Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label released her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016 where she started getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. She continued to upload her music online in 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on July 21st. In the following year, her music circulated around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she performed together with Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a an accompanying music video. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on 11/13, titled Pedigree and No One. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album of the same title. In February, the video music for this song was released. The track has garnered over three million YouTube views in just one week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
